British Airways subsidiary BA Openskies is to join Oneworld as an affiliate member from December 1.
It means that Oneworld cardholders will be able to earn and redeem miles on BA Openskies services, as well as earning tier points. Elite members will also be granted lounge access when flying with the carrier.
Announcing the news BA Openskies managing director Patrick Malval said:
"With Openskies being brought closer to mainstream British Airways, we are delighted now to be able to offer our customers the full range of Oneworld services and benefits and to bring our flights into the network of the world's leading quality airline alliance."
The carrier currently operates flights between Paris Orly and New York Newark, offering a three-class Eco, Prem Plus and fully-flat Biz Bed product.
From March 31 next year BA Openskies will also relaunch its Orly-JFK service (see online news October 23).
