East Coast is making changes to its loyalty scheme, as a result of feedback from customers.
Members will soon be able to redeem single tickets (rather than return journeys only as is currently the case), and the rail operator is also introducing a new ticket finder tool to help members check the availability of awards tickets.
No changes will be made to the number of points needed for a reward ticket, so a single journey will simply require half the points of the current return redemptions.
A discount will also be given for four single reward tickets redeemed in one transaction, replacing the current 'Return Ticket for Two" option.
In addition members will be able to print award tickets at home, as they can with paid-for tickets.
East Coast says the changes will come into effect “within the next fortnight or so”.
