Dorsett Hospitality International debuts

18 Oct 2012

Dorsett Hospitality International, formerly Kosmopolito Hotels International, stepped out today at leading travel trade show ITB Asia 2012 in Singapore with three brands appealing to different genres of travellers and the promise to serve as the “gateway to Asian-inspired hospitality with a touch of Britain”.

Winnie Chiu, company president and executive director, said: "With the group rebranded as Dorsett Hospitality International, we will continue to focus on offering an Asian experience and culture to discerning travellers looking for quality accommodation at excellent value, complete with the essentials of a great hotel experience.

"Our approach is about being modern and innovative. Our expertise, coupled with our operational efficiency, allows us to provide our guests with true value for money at every level – from a luxurious family vacation to a business trip – and convenient accommodation, during their travels."

Philip Schaetz, Dorsett International senior vice-president of sales and marketing, told Business Traveller, that existing properties and future projects will fall under a variety of brands, including boutique range d.Collection, a series of character-rich hotels in prime metro locations; Dorsett Hotels & Resorts, comprising the upscale Dorsett Grand hotels and mid-scale Dorsett Hotels, both again in central locations; and the value-led Silka Hotels offering handy, speedy service and attractive room rates.

The blend of Orientalia and colonial vestiges, said Schaetz, acknowledges Dorsett Hospitality's ties to its base Hong Kong, as well as other destinations where it has – or intends to have – a presence, such as Malaysia and Singapore, which were once also British dominions.
