ITC Hotels has opened a new flagship luxury hotel in the east-coast Indian city of Chennai, one of the country's fastest-developing cities, and home to large automobile and technology industries.
The newly built ITC Grand Chola is located in Guindy, an important business district in the city. Nearby is the Olympia Tech Park, where companies such as HP and Verizon have bases.
The hotel has 522 rooms divided over three wings. All are fitted with iPads that can be used to control their appliances and are decorated with pastel shades as well as lots of plush furnishings.
Executive club room
There are 295 executive club rooms, which measure 37.6 sqm and offer their residents a complimentary daily newspaper and 30 minutes use of the business centre.
Tower Room
The 132 tower rooms are larger at 57 sqm and have their own exclusive entrance. Guests in these rooms get four complimentary pieces of laundry per stay and can get free use of the hotel's boardroom for three hours each day or the business centre for 30 minutes. They are provided with a 24-hour butler service.
On the second floor are 31 Eva Rooms especially for individual female travelers, with a female butler, enhanced security features and facilities chosen to cater to women.
Alongside these rooms, the hotel has 16 suites and 78 serviced apartments.
Each of the three blocks of the hotel has its own dedicated gym and swimming pool. It will also soon have a Kaya Kalp luxury spa, due to open later this year.
The hotel has over 9,000 sqm of meeting space, including a large hall that can be subdivided, four meeting rooms, and a boardroom.
