Accor has opened the first Ibis Budget and Ibis Styles properties in the UK, following the announcement of the revamp of the group’s economy brands last year (see online news September 13, 2011).
Ibis Budget replaces Etap Hotels, with a new property opening in the East London Whitechapel area, while Ibis Styles is the new name for the All Seasons brand, with a new hotel opening in Croydon.
Ibis Budget London Whitechapel is the first hotel to feature the brand’s new “cocoon style bedroom concept, with LED-lit showers and touch-sensitive reading lights”, while Ibis Styles London Croydon (formerly the Norfolk House Hotel) has been refurbished, offers free wifi, and is located five minutes from Thornton Heath railway station.
Business Traveller recently attended a press event promoting the new Ibis brandings – to read our report click here. We were also given a briefing on plans for the revamp of Accor’s A Club loyalty scheme – for more information click here.
