Thai-based hotel group, Centara Hotels and Resorts, will open its second property in Bangkok in summer this year – the four-star Centra Central Station Bangkok.

The 150-room hotel is located on the edge of Bangkok’s Chinatown district and five minutes’ walk away from Hua Lampong MRT terminus, also known as the Bangkok Railway Station, which offers train services to other provinces in Thailand.

All rooms feature only the most basic amenities, such as a TV, internet access and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The hotel consists of two restaurants – the all-day dining outlet Station Café and Chyna, which serves predominantly Chinese dishes – a spa, gym and five function rooms for meetings and conferences.

Though the Centra branded property is being marketed as an affordable hotel, pricing details have not been announced.

The Centara group recently underwent a major restructuring after ending its 25-year long partnership with Accor (see story here). The former five-star Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok is now the newly renovated Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok.
