The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is to open its first property in Qatar later this year, with the rebranding of the Ramada Plaza Doha under the Radisson Blu offering.
The 583-room property, located “on a prominent intersection in the city centre”, will be rebranded in the third quarter of 2012, and is set to undergo a US$18 million renovation programme.
The hotel is one of the largest in Doha, and offers a total of six bars and 12 restaurants, alongside 2,000sqm of meeting space, two gyms and three swimming pools, as well as sauna, squash, tennis, basketball, badminton and spa treatment facilities.
Carlson Rezidor currently has 29 Radisson Blu properties either in operation or under development in the Middle East.
Until recently branded separately under Carlson Hotels and the Rezidor Hotel Group, the two companies this week announced the formation of The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, as part of the groups’ plans for the global alignment and management of their brands – for more information click here.
