Japan Airlines (JAL) adds four new Canadian destinations to its network through a codeshare agreement with WestJet Airlines from December 15 onwards.
Currently, through another codeshare agreement with American Airlines (AA), JAL’s network already consists of Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto, and the new deal will add in Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna and Winnipeg via Vancouver. The agreement will also expand the carrier's service to Toronto and Montreal, with JAL’s “JL” code appearing on WestJet operated flights.
JAL flies daily from Tokyo Narita to Vancouver and from there, passengers can connect onwards to any of the cities mentioned above.
However, the agreement is not reciprocal at this stage and, therefore, does not include JAL’s domestic flights or frequent flier benefits.
