Swire Hotels' sister brand Chapter Hotels is to open its second UK property next year, a 59-room hotel housed with a 19th century building in Exeter.
Chapter Hotels debuted in Cheltenham last year with the Montpellier Chapter (see online news October 19, 2010), and will now be joined by the Magdalen Chapter in late spring 2012, housed within the former West England Eye Hospital on Magdalen Street close to Exeter cathedral.
The hotel will combine original features with “contemporary interiors and artwork, as well as state of the art technology”, and will feature 59 rooms with free wifi and minibars, a restaurant serving “classic British, seasonal dishes”, and spa facilities.
Swire Hotels is owned by Swire Pacific Ltd, the largest shareholder in Cathay Pacific, and has properties in Beijing and Shanghai.
