Easyjet will fly four-times weekly between London Southend airport and Jersey from next May, the ninth route the airline has announced from its new London base.
The carrier will commence flights on May 2, 2012, operating on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Tickets go on sale on Thursday September 22, and the full timetable is shown below.
The news follows Easyjet’s announcement of the launch of a new base at London Southend airport in April next year, with flights to Amsterdam, Alicante, Barcelona, Belfast, Faro, Ibiza, Malaga and Mallorca, and now Jersey.
The carrier says it has seen “high demand” for seats on flights from Southend, with sales “outperforming other London Airports by up to three per cent”.
Easyjet currently offers a year-round service between Jersey and Liverpool John Lennon airport, and this summer has been operating flights between Glasgow and the Channel Island (see online news March 24).
