Flybe gears up for Embraer jet delivery

25 Aug 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Regional carrier Flybe is set to take delivery of its first Embraer E175 jets this month, and according to the latest edition of the Official Airline Guide (OAG) will roster the aircraft onto routes including Manchester-Brussels and Gatwick-Inverness.

Last year the carrier agreed a deal with Embraer to purchase up to 140 jets, with a firm order for 35 of the manufacturer’s E175 aircraft.

No official information has been published by Flybe as to the launch date for the first of the carrier’s E175s, but the latest September edition of the OAG shows the aircraft operating on weekday flights between Manchester and Brussels (BE597 departing Manchester at 1700, and BE598 leaving Brussels at 1955).

The Embraer aircraft is also shown as operating on Flybe’s route between Gatwick and Inverness, on daily flights BE7320 and BE7324 departing Inverness at 0710 and 1250, and BE7321 and BE7325 departing London at 0930 and 1500. Note that BA codeshares on these flights.

As always the rostering of aircraft is subject to change, and the Flybe website does not yet reflect this information on its booking engine. The carrier currently operates a mixed fleet of Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and Embraer E195 aircraft.

The E195 aircraft already in the Flybe fleet seat 118 passengers – the configuration of the new E175s has not yet been released by Flybe.
