Radisson Blu is to open a 125-room hotel in the capital of India's Uttarakhand state, around 250km north of New Delhi. It’s the 89th hotel open or under development within the Carlson group in India.
Construction will begin on the Radisson Blu Hotel Dehradun in September, with an opening date slated for the second quarter of 2014.
The six-storey hotel will be designed by Italian architect Giampiero Peia, and will feature a speciality Indian restaurant, all day dining eatery, a bar, lobby lounge, spa, health club, swimming pool and “several meeting rooms and ballrooms”.
Dehradun’s Jolly Grant airport is located 25km to the south of the city, with services to Delhi operated by Air India, Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines.
Carlson plans to open 100 hotels across India by 2015, as part of its Ambition 2015 growth strategy.
