Jetstar Asia launches Singapore-Hanoi services

Jetstar Asia, the budget arm of Qantas Airways, is to launch services between Singapore and Hanoi from December 15, 2011 onwards, capitalising on growing regional travel demand.

Flights will be operated four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays using an Airbus A320. The aircraft departs from Singapore at 0935, arriving in Hanoi at 1200, and the return leg will depart Hanoi at 1240, arriving back in Singapore at 1705.

In addition to this new route, the carrier will add anther flight between Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) from August 18, which increases frequencies on this route from twice daily to three times a day. The additional flight will depart Singapore at 1120, arriving in HCMC at 1235, and the return leg will depart HCMC at 1305, arriving back in the Lion City at 1600.

The carrier stated it also plans to add up to 12 flights to China by the end of this year though details of these plans have not yet been revealed.

According to ITB World Travel Trends Report for this year, while Asia represents 18 percent of global outbound travel, 76 percent of outbound trips in Asia are to destinations within the region.
