Radisson Blu is to open its first property in Ghana in 2013, a 168-room hotel in the country’s capital Accra.
The property will be located in the city’s business district and will feature 20 one to three-bedroom apartments, a restaurant, two bars, 300sqm of meeting space and an outdoor swimming pool.
Radisson has established Radisson properties in African countries including Senegal, Mali, Mozambique, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt and South Africa, with hotels due to open in Nigeria (Lagos) and Ethiopia (Addis Ababa) later this year.
BA offers a daily service between London Heathrow and Accra, while Virgin Atlantic launched a three-times weekly service between the two cities last year (see online news May 25, 2010).
