CX, ANA and SIA raise fuel surcharges

Cathay Pacific, All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines and its subsidiary SilkAir will be raising fuel surcharges in response to a raise in global fuel prices.

The Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department approved fuel surcharges for Cathay Pacific and ANA of 11 and nine percent for short haul and long haul flights respectively between February 1 and 28. Maximum Surcharges for short haul flights will go from HK$129 (US$16) to HK$143 (US$18) while, for long haul flights, surcharges will go from HK$621 (US$79) to HK$677 (US$86).

Fuel surcharges for Singapore Airlines and SilkAir will be applied to tickets issued after January 27 without declaring a potential end date. Fuel surcharges can go up by US$3 or US$ 27, depending on distance and class of travel with Singapore Airlines. For SilkAir, surcharges on short haul flights will go up to from US$33 to a maximum of US$37 for business class travel while surcharges for long haul flights will go from US$91 to a maximum of US$100.
