Air Mauritius re-opens Sydney service

Air Mauritius has resumed its service between the African island nation and Sydney.

The airline has added Australia’s largest city to its current weekly service to Melbourne.

Steven Palombo, Air Mauritius manager Australia, said: “Air Mauritius is the only airline in Australia to offer direct services to Mauritius, now serving Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, providing passengers with the fastest, most convenient flight to Mauritius. Our schedule also offers great connections beyond to Africa and Europe, with 25 destinations on the Air Mauritius route network.”

The flight departs Mauritius on Mondays at 1945 and arrives in Melbourne on Tuesdays at 1140. It then arrives in Sydney at 1420. The return flight leaves Sydney on Wednesdays at 0715, then departs Melbourne at 0955 and arrives in Mauritius at 1525 on Wednesdays. Air Mauritius will use a Airbus A340-300 on the route.

Air Mauritius offers a number of onward destinations in East Africa, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean, such as Nairobi, Kenya and Antananarivo, Madagascar.

The airline has also rescheduled its weekly Mauritius-Perth route. The flight leaves Mauritius at 2245 on Saturdays and arrives in Perth on Sunday at 0935. The return flight leaves Perth on Mondays at 0130 and arrives in Mauritius at 0540 the same day.
