Swissôtel Hotels and Resorts is rolling out its Kids Room concept in all properties, following positive market response since being launched in 2004 at the Swissotel The Bosphorus in Instanbul.
“In recent years, with air travel becoming more affordable, we do see an increased trend of families travelling with children,” said Aiden McAuley, regional vice-president, Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts and general manager of Swissotel The Stamford Singapore.
The Kids Room involves booking a unit with a connecting door to the parents’ room. Housekeeping then customises the room with carefully chosen amenities, based on the age of the youngsters.
For babies and children under five, a crib, baby seat, small bed and stuffed toys will be provided.
For those between six and 12 years old, board games, a supply of hot chocolate, comics and DVDs and a minibar selection of healthy drinks and snacks will be supplied.
Teenagers between 13 and 18 years old may find electronic entertainment options such as Nintendo Wii sets, magazines, games such as Trivial Pursuit or Scotland Yard and an iPod docking station.
“Swissôtel Kids Rooms is very well received by families who have experienced it," McAuley, revealed. He also claimed that their parent-guests welcomed the convenience which lessened concerns for their youngsters' well being.
