EDITION Hotels, the new lifestyle lodging concept, conceived by Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott International, debuts along Waikiki Beach in October 2010.
Benefiting from Schrager’s talent for creating personal and unique stays and Marriott’s global reach, the 353-room property will function as a “home away from home” for leisure and business travellers, according to its website,(www.editionhotels.com). In addition, it will also cater to the corporates, offering a user-friendly and technology equipped environment to get the guest connected and accomplish work away from the office.
The Waikiki EDITION, designed by Yabu/Pushelberg, will feature celebrity chef Morimoto, Crazybox nightclub, swimming pool, private beach, lobby lounge, ballroom and an outdoor movie theatre among others.
A suite promotion starts from US$550 and includes accommodation in an Ocean View Suite, round-trip airport transfers, daily in-suite coffee service, access to private Sunset Beach and preferred reservations at Morimoto. Again, this is valid until February 28, 2011 and must be booked by September 5.
The second EDITION is due by year-end in Istanbul, designed by Gabellini/Sheppard and features 77 guestrooms and and the renowned Cipriani Retaurant. Other international gateway cities to receive a future EDITION include Mexico City, Barcelona and Bangkok. Others are still under development.
