Guoman Hotels has opened its first property outside London, with the unveiling of the five-star Guoman Shanghai in the city’s Putuo district.
The Guoman Hotels brand launched in 2004, and currently has four hotels in London (The Royal Horseguards, The Cumberland, The Tower and Charing Cross), with a second Chinese property also under development in Beijing, and a fifth London hotel (The Grosvenor Victoria) due to join the group in the near future.
The 442-room Guoman Shanghai forms part of Guosan Centre Changfeng, a mixed-use development in the Putuo district in the northwest of the city. Features include two floors of Eastern-inspired restaurants, a 500-capacity grand ballroom, 11 conference rooms, a spa and fitness centre with sun terrace, 125 suites starting at 60sqm, and a fleet of Guoman-operated black cabs for guests’ use.
The Guoman Hotels brand is operated by Guoman Hotel Management Limited, which also runs the Thistle Hotels chain in the UK.
