Armani Hotels has confirmed its first property will open on March 18, with the unveiling of the Armani Hotel Dubai.
Housed within the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, the hotel marks the debut of the Armani Hotels and Resorts brand, with a second property under development in Milan, and further hotels, resorts and residences planned for Marrakech and Marassi (Egypt), as well as “key international destinations such as New York, Tokyo, Shanghai and London”.
Reservations will go live online in late January at armanihotels.com, where more information can be viewed on the Dubai and Milan properties. Armani Hotels is a joint venture between the luxury Italian designer company and Emaar, developers of the Burj Khalifa.
The world’s tallest tower was originally called the Burj Dubai, but was renamed after Abu Dhabi’s ruler, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, following financial aid to Dubai by the neighbouring emirate.
The announcement of an opening date for the Armani Hotel Dubai follows the recent unveiling of the world’s tallest hotel on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road (see online news December 30, 2009).
