One fact overlooked in the endless discussion over British Airways’ planned strike is that its CityFlyer subsidiary will continue to operate normally out of London City (LCY).
As a subsidiary airline, CityFlyer was not part of the strike ballot so its flights remain open for booking on ba.com
But any remaining seats may be quickly filled. A spokesman for BA at Heathrow said that “we are moving booked customers across to our London City services where we can.”
CityFlyer operates out of LCY to Glasgow and Edinburgh and also to various destinations in mainland Europe including Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Geneva, Madrid and Zurich.
However there is confusion over whether BA’s service between LCY and New York JFK will operate during the strike period because this route is not part of CityFlyer and so it has different crewing arrangements.
