Nanjing adds North American flights

27 Nov 2009

Eastern Chinese city Nanjing is to see three new routes open up to the US and Canada within the space of just over a week.

Air China started a Nanjing-New York service via Beijing on November 20 and China Eastern will launch a Nanjing to Los Angeles route and a Nanjing to Vancouver route, both via Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport, starting from November 28.

Nanjing is the capital of Jiangsu province and the provincial government has set up a four-year special fund of almost US$12 million for subsidising international air routes, in their initial stages, especially services to the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia.
