Cash-strapped Gulf Air is to cut several key Asian routes as part of a major reduction of services to help the Bahrain-based carrier survive.
Gulf Air plans to close its routes to the important business and IT cities of Shanghai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
The airline plans to concentrate on direct flights from Bahrain to other Middle East destinations. About 80 per cent of Gulf Air’s business currently comes from transit passengers.
