Hilton HHonors increases redemption rates

22 Oct 2009 by Mark Caswell

Hilton is increasing the number of points needed to redeem free nights under its Hilton HHonors loyalty scheme.

The changes come into effect on January 15, 2010, and Hilton says it is the first time it has updated its points levels since June 2003. Rates are increasing by up to 10,000 points per free night, depending on the category of hotel – for a full list of rate changes see the table below.

Redemption rates for some hotels within Hilton’s luxury Waldorf Astoria brand are also increasing. For instance a low season redemption for The Bentley Hotel in London will increase from 60,000 to 70,000 points (high season redemptions remain at 80,000 points).

Members looking to redeem points for stays next year can do so at the current rates, providing the booking is made by January 14, 2010, and no changes are made to the reservation after that date.
