Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees to open October 12

8 Oct 2009

Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees will debut in Hongkong on Monday, October 12, 2009, the third hotel to open in the city since early this month, following the openings of Hyatt Regency Tsimshatsui and The Upper House in Pacific Place.

The 702-room property is located near the former Kai Tak Airport and is close to transport and leisure precincts, including the MTR Hunghom Station, Kowloon Bay shopping mall and touristy Tsimshatsui.

It is the latest addition to the Harbour Plaza Hotels and Resorts chain.

Like most of the new-generation hotels making their mark in Hongkong, Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees pushes the envelope in creative design. Expected to be talk of the town is its unique lobby that gives the optical illusion similiar to viewing Italy's Leaning Tower of Pisa. Similar design twists can also be spotted in the Cafe 8 Degrees, Pool Bar and lifts among other areas.

The hotel features two restaurants and a bar, a business centre, fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by lush landscaping. There is also a 418m banquet room that can be divided into nine meeting rooms.

Guests staying on the top three executive floors have full access to exclusive Harbour Club Lounge benefits such as daily breakfast, afternoon tea and evening refreshments and as concierge services.

There are 104 rooms and suites with fully equipped kitchenettes, which are designed to cater for long-staying guests.

The hotel has a number of special offers good for the next several months, ranging from a "Stay Five Pay Four Nights" room package until November 30, 2009 for a City Deluxe Room from HK$880 (US$113.54) or a Patio Suite from HK$1,760 (US$227.08) to a "Serviced Suite Special" opening offer until March 31, 2010 for a studio suite from HK$13,800 (US$1,780) up to HK$21,800 (US$2,812).
