Regal Hotels to open Shandong property

3 Sep 2009 by Sara Turner

Regal Hotels has been appointed to manage a new five-star hotel in Dezhou city, in Shandong province in the east of China. The 215-room Regal Kangbo hotel is set to open in the autumn.

The 22-storey building is one of the tallest in the city. Meeting facilities include seven conference rooms and a 750 sqm ballroom, while leisure facilities comprise a swimming pool, gym and spa.

Regal will be managing the property on behalf of owner Bosideng, a fashion company based in China, which is looking to diversify its investment portfolio with hotels.

The property is 15 minutes’ drive from the city centre and one hour, 15 minutes from Jinan International airport.

Regal manages five hotels in Hong Kong and six hotels in China, with plans to expand its network in China in first- and second-tier cities. The next opening will be the Regal Master hotel in Chengdu, in Sichuan (see online news February 13).
