28 Aug 2009 by Mark Caswell

Regional airline Eastern Airways has announced new routes from Aberdeen and Newcastle to Norway’s second largest city of Bergen.

The weekday flights will commence on October 5, and will add to Eastern’s existing Norwegian services to Oslo (from Aberdeen) and Stavanger (from Aberdeen and Newcastle).

Flights will depart Aberdeen at 0840, arriving in Bergen at 1110, with the return leg departing Bergen at 1615, landing back in Aberdeen at 1645. The Newcastle service will depart the UK at 1030, arriving in Bergen at 1335, with the return leg leaving the Norwegian city at 1430, landing in Newcastle at 1535.

Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways’ CEO, said: “The announcement of two new non-stop services to Bergen from Aberdeen and Newcastle clearly demonstrates our commitment to developing routes between the UK and Norway.

“Bergen is a key base for the global energy industry, and our services will benefit business travellers.  Both services also provide a convenient link for leisure passengers taking short breaks in Norway, north east Scotland and north east England.”

Fares to Bergen start from £89 one-way – for more information visit easternairways.com.
