Stansted Express services are returning to normal today after yesterday's disruption, when trains were only running once per hour between Liverpool Street and the airport owing to a third week of industrial action on the National Express East Anglia route.
The strike was due to continue into today, but has been cancelled after a pay deal was met. The following statement has appeared on the Stansted Express website:
"We're pleased to confirm that industrial action by the Aslef, RMT and TSSA Trade Unions has been suspended and normal services will resume on Stansted Express throughout the morning on Friday 14th August.
There may be some alterations to the normal service timetable on early morning services as a result of displaced trains and train crew."
