Langham Hotels International is to open two properties in Bangkok in 2012, the group’s first hotels in the Thai capital.
The Langham Sukhumvit Bangkok (pictured left) will be located in the city’s commercial district, and will feature 230 rooms and 80 residences. Facilities will include a spa inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, a swimming pool and fitness centre, a grand ballroom, and two restaurants, including a sister version of the Michelin-starred T’ang Court at the Langham Hong Kong.
Meanwhile the 400-room Langham Place Phayathai Bangkok (pictured right) will be situated close to the Siam Centre retail complex, around 15 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International airport via the city’s airport-rail link. Langham says that the hotel’s emphasis will be on “sparkling service that reflects the guests’ fun loving and sociable approach to life”, with features including a spa, swimming pool, two restaurants, meeting facilities, and Portal – Work and Play, a hybrid bar and business lounge.
Both hotels will be managed by Langham under an agreement with the Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited.
Two further Langham properties are currently under development in Thailand – the Langham Place Samui at Lamai Beach, and the Langham Place Miora Resort & Spa, Phuket.
