All Nippon Airways (ANA) and US Airways have signed a codeshare agreement for flights between Tokyo Narita and several points in the US.
US Airways will be allowed to place its flight code on ANA return flights from Tokyo Narita to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington DC and New York JFK.
In return, ANA will place its NH flight code on US Airways’ domestic flights bound for Charlotte (North Carolina), Philadelphia, Phoenix and Las Vegas. These flights will be originating from the US airline’s international hubs in Washington, Chicago O’Hare, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
The codeshare will start on September 16, pending the approval of the US Department of Transportation and the Japanese government.
To mark the initiative, both carriers are awarding double mileage points to their respective frequent flyer members for taking any of the new codeshare flights. The offer is valid for travel between September 15 and November 30 on both international and US domestic flights.
Both airlines are members of Star Alliance and allow their passengers to accrue and redeem miles on each other’s flights.
