Travellers who book their budget-fare tickets on Malaysia Airlines (MAS) from now until August 7 will enjoy longer validity period.
Those who take advantage of the airline’s “Everyday Low Fares” deal during the promotional period can use their tickets for travel between September 3, 2009 and June 28, 2010.
“There are those who wish to travel but are concerned over the flu,” said Dr Amin Khan, MAS senior general manager for network and revenue management. “This offer enables our passengers to still enjoy the best fares now and travel later as we have provided the flexibility of a 10-month travel period.”
To sweeten the deal further, MAS has also introduced a “book now, pay later” scheme to allow customers to book tickets online and pay at the airline’s ticketing offices.
Everyday Low Fares is offered in all destinations worldwide. All-inclusive one-way fares from Kuala Lumpur start from MYR428 (US$122) for Hongkong, MYR838 (US$238) for Sydney and MYR1,058 (US$301) for Rome among others.
Introduced last year, MAS’s budget-fare promotion has sold more than MYR250 million (US$71.28 million) worth of tickets. The three most popular destinations are London, Melbourne and Hongkong.
