Doubletree to open in Bristol and Milton Keynes

21 Jul 2009 by Mark Caswell

Hilton has announced further expansion of its Doubletree brand in the UK, with properties due to open in Bristol and Milton Keynes before the end of this year.

The existing four-star Cadbury House Hotel and Country Club near Bristol is to be converted to the Doubletree by Hilton Bristol South, with 72 rooms, meeting space, a restaurant, bar, and acces to a health club and spa facilities. The hotel is located 13 miles southwest of the city near the village of Congresbury, and around ten minutes drive from Bristol International Airport.

Meanwhile Doubletree will also open a new-build property within the stadium at MK Dons Football Club in Milton Keynes. The hotel will be integrated into a prefessional sports complex at the front west stand of the stadium, and will have 127 rooms, several of which will be pitch facing with direct access to to stadium seating.

Both hotels will operate under franchise agreements, and are due to open before the end of 2009. The announcements bring to seven the number of Doubletree properties already open or under development in the UK. Hilton launched the brand here last year (see online news February 1, 2008), and is also rolling it out across continental Europe.
