Etihad Airways has opened its first premium lounge outside the UAE in Frankfurt Airport, Germany. The 275 sqm lounge can host up to 50 passengers.
The lounge is located in Transit Area E, near the gates most commonly used by Etihad. First and business class passengers can use the facility from three hours prior to the departure of their flight.
The dining facilities in the lounge offer a selection of foods from around the world, while a timber-panelled business centre provides individual workstations, as well as a telephone offering free calls within the greater Frankfurt area.
Other features include a prayer room, a seating area with Italian leather chairs, and shower facilities for customers to freshen up in prior to departure.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways’ chief commercial officer, said: “Our new facility offers a luxurious lounge area in a truly superb environment that will provide Etihad’s premium customers with a range of entertainment options if they want them, or plenty of other ways to simply sit back and enjoy some relaxation prior to boarding their flight.”
Etihad serves Frankfurt twice daily from its Abu Dhabi base, with a two-class A330-200 – for a seatplan of this plane click here.
Mr Baumgartner added: “The opening of the new Frankfurt lounge marks the beginning of a gradual roll out of Etihad lounges across the airline’s network which will all offer the same high quality look and feel.”
