16 Jul 2009 by Mark Caswell

Newquay Cornwall airport has opened a lounge for business class passengers, as part of continued development at the terminal.

The lounge feature views of the runway, work stations, broadband internet access, and “a range of hot and cold drinks and light refreshments”.

The airport currently serves 19 destinations through eight airlines, including routes such as Birmingham, Gatwick, London City, Stansted, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle, Belfast and Dusseldorf.

Development at the facility over the last two years has included the building of a new air traffic control tower, resurfacing of the runway, and the completion of a new arrivals hall.

Commenting on the new lounge, Chris Cain, airport project director, said:  “We are delighted to now offer our passengers at Newquay Cornwall Airport the opportunity to relax in this spacious new executive lounge. This demonstrates the Council’s continued commitment to providing an enhanced passenger experience throughout the terminal for the business traveller.”
