From September 29 Singapore Airlines (SIA) will operate daily services with its flagship A380 into Melbourne, Australia.
It means that passengers departing from London Heathrow will now be able to sample the A380 experience all the way through to Melbourne via Singapore.
The superjumbo will take over existing flights between Singapore and Melbourne which are currently operated by a B747-400.
The three class (first, business and economy) A380 will be rostered for flight SQ227 departing Singapore at 2100 which arrives into Melbourne the following morning at 0610 (0710 after October 4). It returns from Melbourne with SQ228 at 1550 (1650 from October 4) to reach Singapore at 2140.
Melbourne will be the second Australian city after Sydney to receive SIA’s A380. There are convenient SIA connections at Singapore to and from all major European destinations.
