ROUTE UPDATES

AirAsia X has started a five-weekly service between Kuala Lumpur and Taipei. Flights operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Air China will launch daily direct flights between Beijing and Lhasa in Tibet starting July 10. The direct route takes two hours off the current service between the two cities, which operates via Chengdu.

Indonesia AirAsia will commence a daily service between Jakarta and Manila in September, joining Cebu Pacific on the route. The budget carrier is also starting Denpasar-Perth flights on July 17 and Denpasar-Saigon flights in September.

OFFERS

Emirates has promotional fares from HK$5,020 (US$648) for return flights between Hongkong and Athens, Amman and Damascus. Fares are available for all seat classes and bookings must be made by July 15.

Japan Airlines is offering a return Economy fare of A$777 (US$623) between Tokyo and Sydney in celebration of 40 years of the route. Also available is a Tokyo-Brisbane return Economy fare of A$767 (US$615). Available for booking until July 31 for travel until September 30.
