IHG proffers dynamic pricing scheme to corporate guests

25 Jun 2009

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) is offering its dynamic pricing model as another option for companies in Asia-Pacific that are keeping a tight lid on their budget on hotel stays for travelling executives.

The hotel group has the flexible pricing scheme for some time now and has seen corporate customers in Australia warming up to it. IHG will be introducing the dynamic pricing model to corporate customers across the region over the next month.

“They embrace the opportunity to maximise savings from their corporate travel instead of being relegated to their set corporate rates and booking periods,” said Gary Rosen, the hotel group’s senior vice-president for sales and marketing. “With dynamic pricing, our clients will receive a reduction off the best available flexible rates, which are always the best guaranteed market-driven rates.”

Under IHG’s dynamic pricing model, preferred accounts will negotiate a set percentage discount off the best unrestricted, daily market rates at any of its properties – InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, and Holiday Inn Expßress – in Asia-Pacific.

“Corporate accounts will get varying discounts depending on the hotels that are part of their programme,” Rosen said.

He pointed out the new pricing platform is not meant to replace the traditional contracted RFP-rate model.

“We do not see them as mutually exclusive. There are clients who may prefer one or the other depending on their needs.”
