Premium economy passengers with Air New Zealand are now entitled to the same checked baggage allowance and priority tags as Business Premier customers.
Until now premium economy passengers had only been entitled to economy baggage allowances. The move means passengers travelling to the US (where the piece system applies) can now check in two pieces, with a maximum weight of 32kg per piece (up from 23kg). Those travelling on flights to Hong Kong can check in one bag weighing up to 30kg (up from 20kg).
Note that the new allowances only apply to Air New Zealand flights – passengers on codeshare flights or interlining with other carriers will only be entitled to the economy class baggage allowance on these sectors. Star Alliance Gold will continue to receive an additional 20kg or 1 additional piece per person of checked baggage allowance, regardless of class booked.
