Pan Pacific chain to operate first China property

5 Jun 2009

Singapore-based Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts kicks off an expansion programme by taking over the Hua Ye Xiamen Hotel and rebranding it Pan Pacific Xiamen. This marks its first foray into China.

Refurbishment on the property has begun for completion by early August. Public areas such as the lobby and elevators are undergoing major re-working, and rooms are being enhanced to include audiovisual equipment such as flat-screen TVs, dual-language controls and iPod docking stations. In-room lighting, work desks and chairs are also being improved and personal safes to accommodate laptops will be installed.

The Pacific Club, the premier executive space and a feature of the chain, will occupy levels 20 through 29. Pacific Club guests will enjoy 24-hour butler service, access to the Pacific Club Lounge for breakfast and use of business amenities, including the meeting rooms. For dining and recreation, the new hotel boasts Pan Pacific’s award-winning Cantonese restaurant, Hai Tien Lo, a lobby-level tea and coffee lounge and fitness centre.

Travellers can now make reservations at Pan Pacific Xiamen through PANTHER, a proprietary reservations and distribution platform that captures guests’ preference information. Bookings can be made via GDS, online channels, as well as Pan Pacific’s toll-free voice reservation centres globally.

The chain is developing a second property in China, Pan Pacific Tianjin, which is due to open in 2011.
