Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened two new properties in South Africa, and is due to unveil a Crowne Plaza hotel in Nairobi this autumn.
The refurbished Crowne Plaza Johannesburg – The Rosebank (pictured) is being operated under a franchise agreement with Hospitality Property Fund, and is located in the city’s business, leisure and residential district. The 318-room hotel features a spa, two restaurants, and conference facilities.
Meanwhile in Pretoria, IHG has opened the 304-room Holiday Inn Express Sunnypark, following the conversion of the 20-storey Sunnypark residential tower, located next to the shopping centre of the same name. Features include a cafe-lounge area, two meeting rooms, a roof garden, and wifi throughout the property.
Finally IHG has announced it will open it second Crowne Plaza property in Kenya later this year. The 163-room Crowne Plaza Nairobi will feature a Crowne Club floor, two restaurants, a banqueting hall, three meeting rooms, a health club, swimming pool, sauna, and a gym.
