Harbour Grand Hongkong opens today, June 1, in the North Point area, about 10 minutes away from Central.
This kicks off a slew of hotel launches, including Hyatt Regency
Hongkong Tsim Sha Tsui, Crowne Plaza in Causeway Bay and The Upper
House in Pacific Place, planned for the second half of the year. Harbour Grand’s
sister property, Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees is due for its own debut in
October. It is located near the former Kai Tak Airport in Kowloon.
Managed by Harbour Plaza Hotels and Resorts, the upscale property features 828 rooms overlooking Victoria Harbour, some with private patios and Jacuzzis. Most suites have pantries for the extended-stay customers. Business travellers booked in Harbour Club Rooms will find among several conveniences a multipurpose fax/copy/scanner/printer.
Meetings and conferences are well catered for with 1,178sqm of space, including seven versatile function rooms offering sea views through floor-to-ceiling windows and a pillarless Grand Ballroom for 600 people. Other facilities include five F&B outlets (continental, Chinese, Japanese, international and the lobby lounge), fitness centre (with views), spa, outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and children’s pool.
In keeping with its name, Hongkong's newest address boasts a striking contemporary art-nouveau lobby, marked by a 9.7m-high ceiling with a gigantic Swarovski chandelier.
