From May 21, Viva Macau Airlines will reduce frequencies to Sydney from four to three flights a week.
In a statement, the low-cost carrier said Macau faces severe price and destination competition in the Australian market, and will stop its Friday flight to Sydney, which is the weakest performing day.
Viva Macau will keep its Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday services.
The airline plans to reinstate the flight and increase frequencies to Australia once the travel market is more stable.
Viva Macau also links the city to Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City.
