Clickair launches "Lock your fare" service

27 Apr 2009 by Mark Caswell

Customers of low-cost carrier Clickair can now guarantee ticket prices on the airline’s website, for either 24 or 72 hours prior to purchasing the ticket.

The “Lock your fare” service allows passengers to pay a fee to freeze any quoted fare at clickair.com for a certain period of time, provided the departure date is at least two weeks in the future.

For €2 (per passenger) the fare can be locked for up to 24 hours, while for €5 the fare can be frozen for up to 72 hours. The airlines says the new service will allow travellers to “share information about the flights they find without having to worry about the price changing once they have decided on a destination and a specific flight”.

The locked period can be extended for a further 24 hours if desired, and passengers will receive a alert email four hours before the end of the protection period.
