Emirates adds flights to Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur

26 Apr 2009

Starting May 1,  Emirates Airline will add three flights on its Dubai-Jakarta route and two flights on its Dubai-Kuala Lumpur route, growing weekly flight frequencies to 10 and 14 respectively.

"While Malaysia continues to be a leading holiday destination, Indonesia is investing significantly in developing its MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) infrastructure to get a slice of the bustling conference market in the region," said Richard Vaughan, divisional senior vice-president, Commercial Operations Worldwide at Emirates. "Also, we have noted a growing outbound tourism market in these countries."

The three new flights to Jakarta will operate on Monday, Wednesday  and Saturday. They will introduce more than 1,200 passenger seats in the service, providing business travellers with smooth connections to Johannesburg, Kuwait, Muscat and Bahrain.

Meanwhile, Emirates' additional two weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur dovetails with the introduction of First Class service on the route. Four of the 14 weekly flights will have First Class seats.

The start of the three-class service will cater to increased tourist arrivals from the Middle East to Malaysia between the June and September holiday season. First Class seats on Dubai-Kuala Lumpur flights will be available on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
