27 Mar 2009 by Mark Caswell

Hotel group Jurys Inn has opened a 216-room new-build hotel close to Watford Junction train station.

The £16.5 million development is the group’s 19th UK hotel, and its second to open this year after the Jurys Inn Sheffield. The hotel’s rooms feature flatscreen TVs, air conditioning and internet access, and can accommodate up to three adults or two adults and two children.

There is a restaurant and coffee bar, and for meetings there are eight function rooms with capacities for up to 100 delegates. The hotel is offering an introductory weekend rate of £49 per night, with week day rates starting from £69.

Watford Junction train station is on the West Coast Main Line, with regular trains to London Euston, and long-distance services to cities including Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
