UK-based country house hotel group Hand Picked Hotels has announced two new partners: sister properties Flemings Mayfair Hotel and Hertfordshire’s Down Hall Country House Hotel.
The group currently owns 17 other properties across the UK, with the recent announcement marking a move into sales and marketing partnerships.
The partnership with Flemings Mayfair also marks a move away from the country house hotel niche, with the London base providing an alternative city venue for regular guests; the group has a loyalty club, which is free to join, offering members benefits such as upgrades, free welcome drinks and discounts off meals.
Douglas Waddell, operations director of Hand Picked Hotels, said: “We’ve had high demand for a London property and we’ve looked long and hard for the right one. In Flemings Mayfair Hotel we could not have found a more suitable partner. Alongside Down Hall Country House Hotel, it helps us to strengthen our network with a product which is of the same standard as Hand Picked Hotels and has a similar approach to looking after guests.”
Simon Scarborough, operations director of Flemings Mayfair and Down Hall Country House Hotel added: “We are delighted to have found a partner group with a like-minded approach to the welfare of our guests.”
The existing 17-strong Hand Picked Hotels collection (all four star properties owned and managed by the group), also includes Norton House Hotel and Spa in Edinburgh, Brandshatch Place Hotel and Spa in Kent and Hendon Hall Hotel in London, which has recently had a bedroom upgrade and a new conference suite added.
Last year three new hotels were added to the collection of country house hotels: Hendon Hall Hotel, Audleys Wood Hotel in Basingstoke, Hampshire, and New Hall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham.
