Everyone’s a winner on February 8, the day of the Standard Chartered Bank Hongkong Marathon 2009.
Participants and non-participants, athletes and couch potatoes can enjoy discounts offered by 3,000 establishments, who’ve signed up to help stimulate the city’s economy in the Cheer Up Hongkong campaign.
These include 7-11, clothing chain G2000, cosmetics store Sasa, Ponti Food & Wine Cellar, ParknShop supermarkets, Spaghetti House and Wing On department stores among others.
Since first taking place in 1997, the marathon has grown through the years. About 55,000 runners are expected to join the 2009 event, with a crowd of about 100,000 to cheer them on.
