Shangri-La Tokyo's opening package

19 Jan 2009

Japan’s first Shangri-La hotel, Shangri- La Tokyo marks its March 2 opening with a special package of 110,000 yen (US$1,213) a night in a Deluxe Room, single or double occupancy. Other perks include breakfast and a commemorative gift by Robbe & Berking.

The offer, which excludes service charges, runs until April 12.

The premium giveaway by Robbe & Berking, which has been the choice of royal families for generations, is not on sale commercially in Japan and carries a serial number. It will go to the first 200 packages sold and is limited to one per guest with a maximum of two gifts per room.

The 202-room Shangri-La Hotel Tokyo boasts a convenient location adjacent to Tokyo Station, the capital’s only station with railway connection to all parts of Japan. It occupies the top 11 floors of the 37-storey mixed-use Marunouchi Trust Tower Main. Nearby are the Ginza shopping district, Imperial Palace, redeveloped business and retail zone of Marunouchi and Tokyo’s historical and cultural epicenter of Nihonbashi.

The hotel’s dining facilities will include Piacere, a signature Italian restaurant; Nadaman, which serves authentic Japanese kaiseki cuisine; and the Lobby Lounge. Shangri-La’s trademark spa, CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La, also marks its debut in Japan and will feature six self-contained spa suites.
