Ibis brand to debut in Singapore

27 Dec 2008

Singapore will have its first Ibis hotel come February 24, when it opens in the Bugis art and cultural district. Nearby landmarks include the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The 538-room budget hotel, Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen, is the largest Ibis outside Europe. Opening room rates start from S$148 (US$102), inclusive of complimentary Wi-Fi access.

The contemporary-style guestrooms all have high ceilings and large bay windows, as well as broadband internet connection, flatscreen TVs with cable channels, safe and a coffee and tea-making set. Other onsite facilities include a restaurant offering an Asian variety, a bar and all-day hot snack service.

“Singaporean tourism authorities are predicting 17 million tourists arrivals by 2017, and with the destination’s growing status as Asia-Pacific’s tourism hub, there has been an urgent need for quality, affordable accommodation in the heart of the city,” said Puneet Dhawan, the new hotel’s general manager.

The opening of Ibis hotel in Singapore marks the brand’s 60th in Asia-Pacific.
