Business travellers seeking a concierge to ease the stress of flying when using the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Colombo can look to SriLankan Airlines’ Sathkara (meaning caring in the local language Sinhala) passenger welcome service.
For a fee of US$20, travellers will be accompanied by an airline staff during their wait at BIA, as well as obtain benefits such as an express check in, hassle-free clearance of immigration and complimentary luggage-handling services.
Milinda Ratnayake, captain of service delivery, said: “Sathkara is a comprehensive service that is offered only by SriLankan Airlines at BIA. Passengers only need to walk up to the stewardess holding a sign with their names on it, and everything else is taken care of. Sathkara is especially popular among corporate houses, which want their clients and other VIP’s to have a pleasant journey.”
Bookings can be made by e-mailing [email protected] or contacting the airline’s network of ticket offices.
